#80 What is the preferred syllabus and booklist for Maithili literature optional in UPSC CSE Mains?

Maithili is one of the subject offered by Upsc as optional. Maithili literature has a rich and long history. It is used in parts of northern Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh as well as some districts of West Bengal and Assam. The syllabus for this literature subject includes history and origin of the  language , It’s various Literary text ,famous books by authors. Anyone who opt for this subject will have to write the exam in the language itself. You must choose this subject only if your are well versed with language.
